PEPFAR Watch!—Resource Tools for Funding Advocacy

The global grassroots organization, Health Global Access Project (Health GAP), convenes and coordinates PEPFAR Watch—global network holding the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program accountable for delivery of quality, accessible HIV treatment and prevention. PEPFAR is the largest source of funding in many high HIV-burden countries, including in Africa. In recent years, activists have been integrating HCV and harm reduction recommendations to try to secure additional funding and support for these programs.

PEPFAR Watch tracks the specific language in the Country Operational Plans (COP), and activists prepare recommendations and demands to improve the policy guidance and inform service delivery for countries. PEPFAR Watch offers resource tools, such as webinar trainings on the latest developments to improve HIV, TB, and sexual health service delivery; People’s COP reports from activist perspectives; and guides on how to engage in the PEPFAR processes.
