HCV treatment access goes beyond intellectual property and licensing issues. On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, Médecins du Monde and Treatment Action Group (TAG) launched actions urging pharma and diagnostics companies to drop their exorbitant prices and facilitate the registration of the latest hepatitis C treatments and tests. The ongoing, global campaign focuses on where the registration of diagnostics and direct-acting antivirals, especially those that cure all genotypes, has stalled, as well as the slow treatment uptake in low- and middle-income countries, particularly for key populations.
